GT Interactive was a major computer game publishing company which previously owned the rights to the Blood franchise. It published Blood and Blood II: The Chosen as well as those game's expansion packs and upgrades (save for the third-party Cryptic Passage add-on published by subsidiary WizardWorks Software, and the unsanctioned level packs for Blood), although relations between GT and Monolith Productions grew sour during and after the release of Blood II. When GT was later purchased by Infogrames (now called Atari), it also acquired all the rights to the Blood franchise. Their lack of acknowledgement and probable restrictive ownership of Blood has played a part in the non-existence of a Blood III, causing much protest among fans, particularly from the former Blood Source Campaign. It also appears prominently in any rumours about a possible sequel to Blood II: The Chosen.
